On April 23, 2025, Bright Sky received good news: The Netherlands Enterprise Agency approves the extension of several crucial work packages by one year. This extension offers Bright Sky the opportunity to continue working with its partners and to achieve even better results.
The Work Packages
The Work Packages that have been extended are innovation-oriented work packages that will shape the future of MRO. Below is an overview of the projects that will continue for an additional year.
Automation (Robotization) of Processes
Bright Sky improves de inspection department with AI-driven solutions. These technologies are designed to optimize the performance and efficiency of the inspection department. The extension of this project offers additional opportunities for innovation.
New Inspection Techniques
The research on “Laser Scanning” and “3D-focus Variation” will be more in-depth for understanding and implementing the technologies intro MRO. Equivalence studies determine that these machines perform at least equivalently, if not better, than current methods.
Remote Support
KLM and NLR continue their collaboration in the field of virtualization. They focus on remote inspections and support, which offers more efficient and flexible solutions.
Seamless Acces Control
The focus is on digitalizing security processes. This involves smart controls and the development of digital sensors and artificial intelligence. These innovations ensure a more efficient and safer security process.
New Repair Techniques
The extension will allow fundamental research and familiarization with equipment such as CMT and Cold Spray. By working with Original Equipment Manufacturers, knowledge will be shared, and multiple industrial applications will be developed. These steps will promote innovation in repair techniques.
